Buttons on Canvas?

Buttons on Canvas? Yes please!

Today i had a little fun creating a piece of art
created by antique buttons.

If you'd like to try this out it is very simple.

I didn't even do a full tutorial because of how easy it is.

I scored an used canvas at a thrift store for only a buck,
i was so happy because those can be a little pricy sometimes.

So here's what you'll need:
  • Canvas (used or new)
  • Your choice of Fabric
  • Hot glue
  • and buttons... lots and lots
First i started out by removing the canvas of the wood frame, I just used a kitchen knife to remove the staples.

When you have your wood frame all alone. Move on to your fabric. Measure it out so it covers your wood frame from the canvas. Cut it out, and iron it down so there's no wrinkles.

You can then hot glue or staple your fabric unto your wood frame. Pull on it tightly so you get a smooth surface.

I then sketched with pencil my "S" directly on the fabric.

Using hot glue, i attached all the buttons following my sketch.

When they were all glued on, i used some dark paint
to run over the buttons and the edge of the canvas. My buttons were really really gold and i didn't love that. So the paint was a solution.

Easy enough huh?!

It is rather interesting for me to read the blog. Thank you for it. I like such themes and everything connected to them. I would like to read a bit more on that site soon. By the way, rather good design you have here, but don’t you think it should be changed every few months?
