Let me first start out by saying thanks to everyone,
who is a follower to Get Craftin,
and thanks to all you sweet ladies for your wonderful comments.
Today has been raining all day.
I love the rain, and i think it's the best time to create.
So since I heart headbands!
I decided to make a new one to add to my collection.
I think they always complete an outfit.
The one i decided to make today i saw on someone wearing it at church yesterday.
As i starred at it in aw, i knew i could replicate it.
That's how i roll!
Here's all you'll need to make a ruffly headband:
- headband
- a light weight fabric
- hot glue gun
- and felt
I used the fabric from a kid's old skirt.
I just loved the pattern, and i new the light weight fabric would work great.
I then cut the strips out.
Then cut out a rectangle shape out of your felt.
Make your design with the hot glue gun, and go setting your fabric in place. Be careful not to burn yourself. I used my fingers to press them in place, but I'm pretty used to the heat. If it burns your fingers use an object like a pen, or your scissors to set them in the right place.
One of the techniques i used to make the rose looking one is i would wrap the strips of fabric around my pointer finger. I would carefully pull it out, usually it's too tall so i just cut it right in the middle. Then I'd have two little roses.
When your done with your design. Trim all around your felt.
Drop a line of hot glue straight down you felt pad and set your headband right on it.
If your like me a little obsessive compulsive and your can't stand the ugly hot glue showing, just cut a strip of your left over felt and glue it on top of the ugly part.
And there you have it,
a girl ruffly headband
to go with that outfit that needed an extra
something something.
Cloudy days give such an dramatic look to pictures!
I love it!

Just found your blog...love the headbands...my 17 year old daughter was just saying she wanted to make some...thanks for the idea...stop by and say hi...I have a banner giveaway this week. Sandra
found your blog through a friend's blog and the second I saw this headband I KNEW I had to try it! I used a girls skirt from the thrift store and it was so easy. And so fun to create! I wore the headband to work Monday (I teach 4-12 grade drama) and I seriously instantly became the "coolest" teacher ever! haha
Thanks for sharing the fabulous ideas!
